We are here to help
Did you find a sparkling engagement ring under your tree this year? Or did he pop the big question on New Year's Eve?
If there are vows in your future, your head is likely swimming with all things wedding-related -- where to exchange vows, what to choose for your signature flower, who will be your bridesmaids.
Planning a wedding can be stressful and overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be. You just need to come up with a plan (and enlist some helpers).
Take some time now to sit down with your betrothed and make a list of the meaningful traditions that are important to both of you. Be sure also to make a list of some that you're willing to let go in the interest of saving time, money and your sanity.
Consider what type of wedding you want -- small and informal or big and bold? Do you want to get hitched on foreign soil, like a white sand beach in the Carribean? Or, do you want to have a traditional white wedding at St. Peter Cathedral followed by a 350-guest reception at the Bel-Aire Hotel and Conference Center?
Once you determine the type of wedding you want, you can start sweating the details -- and divvying up the workload.
In most cases, the bride does the majority of the work, but it doesn't have to be that way. Find out how to get your man involved on page 12T.
You'll also find other useful wedding-planning articles about flowers, gowns and blending families at a second wedding.
The Erie Times-News is here with great tips and solid advice to help you plan the wedding of your dreams -- whatever that may be.
Best wishes!
